Marlowe Robinson travelled to Toronto to compete at her first Junior Ontario Weightlifting Championships on the weekend, succeeded with all of her attempts and brought home a bronze medal. This was only the second competition for the 12 year old having qualified at the Mini Hercules competition earlier in the year. In the snatch she exceed her best from that previous competition with her opening attempt and followed it up with two more success to finish with a personal record of 21kg. She repeated this performance in the clean and jerk and set a personal record of 28 on her final attempt. Her combined total of 49kg was 7kg better than her previous best. The next big event for junior lifters is the Ontario Winter Games in February of 2018 and the Hillcrest student continues to train hard in hopes of being selected to compete.
